Pest control and hygiene services provider Rentokil Initial has knocked technology firm Apple off the top spot in a league table of best companies to work for in the UK.
Job security and advancement by promoting from within, good work-life balance, positive company culture, high job satisfaction and doing fulfilling work were cited as the qualities that put Rentokil Initial at the top of the league.
Last year's winner, global tech giant Apple, came second in the ranking and was praised for its staff perks, including free or discounted technology.
The ranking of private sector employers is based on reviews from staff posted on job site Indeed in 2019. The list of the top 25 private sector employers also features a mix of high street brands and financial institutions.
