The current managing director of Amey's facilities management, defence and justice business has been appointed as the group's acting chief executive officer.
Amanda Fisher replaces Andy Milner, who has been Amey's CEO for the past four years. A former armed forces commissioned officer, Fisher joined Amey in 2017 from Balfour Beatty Living Space, where she was managing director - the first woman to reach such a UK senior role within the international construction and services group.
Fisher's CV also includes time as executive operations director for Alfred McAlpine and chief operating officer at Allied Healthcare.
Speaking of her appointment, Fisher said she welcomed the opportunity to "lead Amey through what is both an exciting but demanding time for our industry".
"Recently the business has overcome many challenges, and my focus will be on ensuring we build on this, readying ourselves for the next phase, delivering what our clients and the communities we serve need," she added.
