EMPLOYMENT: Job applications in the property industry rose by 15.8 per cent in the final few months of 2019, according to a report by CV Library. However, despite a growing talent pool, property firms have scaled down their hiring efforts as job vacancies fell by 4.4 per cent year-on-year.
LAUNCH: Front-of-house service provider Acuity has launched a concierge service for its customers to access a range of added-value services. Acuity says its concierge service can organise team and fundraising events to bring teams and businesses together.
APPOINTMENT: Jet Aire Services has appointed Darren Pavan as managing director to provide strategic leadership for its operations nationwide. Pavan joined the company in 2015 as commercial manager, heading up its key contracts in the utilities sector. Read the full article here.
APPOINTMENTS: Marks & Spencer has appointed Will Smith as property director and Helen Milford as retail director. Smith joins from Asda, where he was vice-president of real estate, facilities and market development. Milford joins from JS Argos, where she was director of retail on the management board.
APPOINTMENT: Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work, the business campus located in West London, has appointed Adrian Walker as operations director. Walker will be responsible for the operations and administration functions of the 1.8 million square-foot office development in Chiswick. Read the full article here.
APPOINTMENT: Platinum Facilities, the technology-led hard FM service provider, has appointed Peter Brooks as business development director. Brooks previously spent more than six years with Jaguar Building Services in sales and bid management roles. He will focus on building client relationships and growing the business in London and Southern England.
APPOINTMENT: Churchill Group has appointed Charlotte Parr as business development director for Churchill Cleaning and Portfolio by Churchill's London accounts. Parr will focus on cleaning contracts from a supply chain and strategic point of view, using her experience to cultivate top-level relationships. She was previously UK head of sales and marketing with Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies.
APPOINTMENT: ABM UK has made Chris Townsend senior director of HR for the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. For the past 10 months Townsend has worked in a contractor role to support the UK HR team. He was most recently HR director at Renaissance Services SAOG, an international facilities management and service solutions company. Read the full article here.
Technology: Mitie has announced that it has taken delivery of its 250th electric vehicle. The Nissan e-NV200 van will be based at Heathrow Airport and joins the 200 electric cars and 49 electric vans already in Mitie's fleet.
