APPOINTMENT: Tidy Green Clean has appointed two regional directors in Scotland. Hugh McGarry has been appointed regional director for Forth Valley and Igors Krumins joins as the new regional director for Aberdeen North. Read the full article here.
AWARDS: Securitas UK has been recognised as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute for its commitment to delivering exceptional people management and HR strategies. Securitas had to achieve the minimum standard set out by the Top Employers Institute across 10 of its topics.
CONTRACT: Sodexo for Sports and Leisure will provide services at global sporting events in 2020, including the Super Bowl LIV in Miami, the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, the Tour de France and several UEFA Euro Games.
CONTRACT: Bouygues UK has selected David Bailey Furniture Systems (DBFS) to provide healthcare furniture for the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) project. The contract covers the supply and installation of 5,000 items of DBFS healthcare collection furniture and the installation of 4,500 items of assisted furniture and equipment provided by UCLH.
SOCIAL VALUE: ABM UK has announced that it has become a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant recognises that the nation has a moral obligation to members of the armed forces and their families.
RESEARCH: London South Bank University (LSBU) and the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) have launched a joint research and innovation centre. The BSRIA-LSBU Innovation Centre will support building services in the construction sector by promoting collaborative research between LSBU's School of the Built Environment and Architecture and BSRIA.
CONTRACT: Kier has been awarded a five-year multi-million pound contract by Openreach Network Services Agreement (ONSA) to carry out network delivery works across Hampshire and Berkshire. The contract will include all planned and reactive fibre and copper network services. Kier has committed to provide employment in the region and to support the local supply chain.
AWARDS: Mitie Security has provided Aon plc a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions in achieving the prestigious 'Secured Environments' accreditation for Aon's Global HQ at the Leadenhall Building, London. Aon is the second organisation in the City of London to have achieved the police-approved accreditation status, joining 27 other businesses across the UK.
APPOINTMENT: NEST, the integrated facilities management and technology solutions provider, has appointed Shannon Puckett to its executive suite as chief operating officer. Puckett will oversee NEST's independent service providers ensuring their compliance to local and national requirements and managing quality assurance, product sourcing and service execution.
STRATEGY: Wates Property Services (WPS), part of the Wate's Group, has noted its intention to have a combined annual turnover of £500 million by 2024. WPS will seek to grow its investment in sustainable technologies in support of the Wates Group's wider commitment to achieving zero waste and carbon from its operations by 2025.
