A new range of mobile voice and data services will be available to public sector buyers from January.
Available through OGCbuying.solutions, the Mobile Solutions (II) framework agreements cover the full scope of mobile voice and data requirements. Arrangements include provision for standard ordering off a catalogue of services and for further competition amongst capable suppliers.
Suppliers include British Telecom, 02 UK, T-Mobile (UK) and Vodafone UK.
The framework agreements have been awarded in three lots. Mobile voice and data, wide-area paging and messaging, and bespoke mobile solutions.
Wide-area paging and messaging is expected to benefit public sector workers in environments where the use of messaging devices capable of transmission is restricted. This lot also provides a range of messaging services including for the delivery of bulk SMS messaging and network independent, multi-platform messaging.
Bespoke mobile solutions should assist customers whose needs are not specifically addressed by commodity mobile services, including those seeking solutions to complex and bespoke requirements.
