Commencing in May 2013, the three-year contract is valued at £15 million in total.
ESS is the specialist defence, offshore and remote catering and support services division of Compass Group. The new deal follows the support services group's own contract win with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), reported on FM World last week.
Interserve will provide administrative support services, as well as logistics and transport services at HMS Collingwood, HMS Sultan, HMS Excellent, HMS Raleigh and the Britannia Royal Naval College, all based in the south west of England.
Brian Talbot, managing director of the defence division at Interserve, said: "We have a long history of working in partnership with ESS and the DIO so we are pleased to be awarded a contract on this exciting new project.
"Not only does it reinforce our ability to self-deliver integrated support solutions to the UK's armed forces, it strengthens our relationship with the Royal Navy community in the south west, where we currently provide support services at the Fleet Accommodation Centre in Devonport Naval Base, Plymouth."
Chris Garside, managing director of ESS Support Services Worldwide at Compass Group, said: "We work with Interserve in a number of contracts so we are delighted to award it this contract. We're confident that Interserve will deliver high standards of service and look forward to mobilising the contract later this year."
The win comes as part of an ongoing DIO project, aimed to move towards multi-activity contracts across its estate.
Interserve currently provides support services work at MoD bases in Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Ascension Island and Gibraltar, estimated to be worth £60 million per annum.
It is also part of a joint venture with SSE Contracting, specifically created to manage the DIO's South East Regional Prime Contract (SE RPC), which includes buildings such as Horse Guards Parade, the Tower of London and the Royal Guardrooms.
Interserve has won a contract with ESS Support Services to provide soft FM services at five Royal Navy establishments.
