Carillion has signed a new seven-and-a-half year contract with Arriva Rail London (ARL) for maintenance at London Overground stations.
Under the contract, which has the potential for a 22-month extension, Carillion will be responsible for M&E maintenance, fabric maintenance, ground maintenance, cleaning and pest control at the 81 London Overground stations.
Carillion will also be responsible for managing the FM helpdesk in the Customer Experience Centre in Sheffield.
ARL, part of Arriva UK Trains, is replacing London Overground Rail Operations Ltd to manage the London Overground network of stations and trains. Network Rail manages and maintains most of the track and signals.
Carillion also has a contract with Arriva Rail North to maintain and clean 476 stations across the region.
Nigel Taylor, managing director Carillion Services, said: "We bring tried and tested experience serving rail networks to the exciting new development of London Overground in the capital."
"Customers make more than 184 million journeys on the railway each year and we have a responsibility to ensure those journeys are as safe, efficient, clean and as enjoyable as possible as part of managing London's vital rail infrastructure."
