Facility services provider ISS has won a five-year contract with Shire, a global biotechnology company.
The contract will start on 1 June 2017.
The contract's scope includes more than 40 countries.
The aim is to allow Shire "to focus on their core business while ISS focuses on optimising and standardising select non-core processes within integrated facilities management, maintenance, and engineering".
The goal is to drive consistency, better performance, improved service levels, and enhanced management of expenses.
The services cover catering, janitorial, building maintenance, waste management, pest control, landscaping, cleaning, uniforms & gowning, security, and other facility services.
ISS's Integrated Facility Services offering provides the customer with all the services they need at a uniform quality level across the board, delivered by a single provider.
ISS has a large customer portfolio within pharma and biotech companies and has a strong understanding of the complexity and the level of compliance and quality needed to service the industry.
Andrew Price, ISS group chief commercial officer, said the contract showed ISS was "committed to providing high-quality and reliable services to help reduce complexity and mitigate risk".
