Shares in support services group Enterprise settled at 531 pence on Firday, up 4 pence, after reports that the board had accepted a takeover bid of 605 pence a share.
According to newspaper reports, the offer from private equity firm 3i means the cleaning and maintenance firm is valued at around £485 million,
An earlier bid of 575 pence a share had been rejected by the board.
Enterprise works with numerous local authorities, central government bodies and many large utilities companies offering a range of services from a single service maintenance contract to a full supply of bundled services.
