Budget hotel chain Travelodge will offer free Wi-Fi to customers in all its hotels with bar-cafés from September.
"Our customer research has highlighted that in today's modern world travellers want internet connectivity while on the move,” said Guy Parsons, Travelodge chief executive.
“They can work and cyber-socialise around the clock and with the popularity of smart-phones reaching an all-time high, mobile internet access is becoming more of a necessity in everyday life.”
Travelodge said it is the first budget hotel to offer a free Wi-Fi service.
The company has 478 hotels and is building 43 hotels of which 20 are scheduled to be open this year. The target is to grow its estate to 1,100 hotels and 100,000 rooms by 2025.
