BIFM Awards 2015 - FM Team of the Year

Carillion has taken the BIFM Award for FM Team of the Year for its work in partnership with Nationwide since 2008, providing key FM services across Nationwide's retail estate.

Working with a one-team ethos, Carillion and Nationwide have achieved outstanding results in compliance, sustainability, innovation, and customer service over the contract period. The Carillion FM team also contributes to Nationwide's business objectives around digitisation, CSR and carbon reduction targets.

The judges were particularly impressed with the FM delivery model in which Carillion and Nationwide established several key shared goals including a culture of collaboration and collective responsibility, with the customer at the heart of everything.

As a result, the joint team reduced waste, carbon and water consumption throughout the Nationwide retail estate. This has enabled Nationwide to achieve Triple Standard Accreditation from the Carbon Trust, the first high-street financial institution to do so.

Moreover, the team has delivered Nationwide's sustainability target of zero waste to landfill by 2015, as well as a 5.3 per cent reduction in energy consumption.

The BIFM judges said the joint team "demonstrated an exceptional submission which impressed all the judges, their partnership delivering outstanding value for the business and customers".

"Investment in their people, at all levels, builds skills that will be able to deliver sustained results whilst successfully creating one team. A team who are very proud of their achievements and the value they have created for the business."

Overall customer satisfaction has increased by 6.1 per cent from the previous year. The team has also introduced new tablet technology and e-forms from the mobile engineering team to generate leaner end-to-end processes of service delivery to the branch network.
