BIFM to support FMs in the United Arab Emirates

The BIFM has launched an educational programme in Dubai, United Arab Emirates after being granted a licence to operate by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

 

The new programme is a part of a range of support that the institute plans to offer to aid the facilities management profession and BIFM members based in the United Arab Emirates.


The licence to operate from the Chamber is through its Dubai Association Centre scheme and will see BIFM providing educational opportunities. 


Professionals in the region will be able to access membership, qualifications and training solutions based on the BIFM's FM professional standards to aid their professional development. 


Atiq Juma Nasib, senior vice-president, commercial services sector at the Dubai Chamber, said: "We would like to welcome BIFM to UAE as the 19th association to be licensed through the Dubai Association Centre. We look forward to offering all assistance necessary to help BIFM provide support to the facilities management sector, which is an important part of the UAE economy."


Julie Kortens, BIFM chairman, said: "We are seeing growing demand for our professional development suite around the world with employers seeking to embed our professional standards, learning and development solutions and membership grades. We have been working with employers in the Middle East for many years and this latest development means that we can now expand on what we offer to the profession in the region."

 

BIFM is also taking part in the FM Expo at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 23-25 May.
