The importance of people skills, the quality of young FMs entering the profession and a sense of facilities management 'breaking through' characterised last night's BIFM Awards ceremony.
The successful people and projects at this year's BIFM Awards have been revealed at a well-attended ceremony held last night in central London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Speaking prior to the ceremony itself, judges involved in the selection process talked of the growth in importance of soft skills and a widening acceptance of the facilities management function among organisations more generally.
In short, there was a sense that the facilities management profession has been making great strides in the past 12 months, the skills framework leading to a pipeline of fresh new talent taking on ever more responsibility.
