IWFM TO TACKLE TURBULENT GLOBAL TRENDS AT 2020 CONFERENCE

12 November 2019 | Marino Donati

Experts will speak on the theme of ‘navigating turbulent times’ at the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management’s (IWFM) 2020 national conference.

The event, the second since IWFM rebranded from BIFM last year, will take place on Tuesday 24 March in central London. The emphasis will be on four trends impacting the global economy, including climate change, technology, the future of work, and wellbeing.

The IWFM Conference 2020 is expected to have hundreds of attendees and speakers will include an arctic explorer, the founder of a leading mental health charity, the chief executive of a major tech firm, a top government adviser, broadcaster and expert in modern business practices.

IWFM chief executive Linda Hausmanis said that facilities management should be a leader in tackling profound challenges.

“FMs’ hands are on some of the key levers of positive change for organisations, from environmental sustainability to wellbeing,” she said. “We want them to realise that power. On 24th March, attendees will depart brimming with insights, ideas and practical tools that they can apply in their organisations right away.”

Director of Insight Chris Moriarty said that the 2020 conference would build on the positive feedback from last year when experts from outside the profession were brought in.

“Workplace and facilities professionals have so much in their power to help everyone at work do great work. I want this conference to help them to unleash that,” he said.

Emcor UK is the Insight Sponsor and Planon is Technology Sponsor for the event.

IWFM Conference 2020 will take place Tuesday 24th March at etc. venues St Paul’s, London, EC1A 4HD.
