The company will also be responsible for developing an external energy centre, complete with biomass boiler and fuel store, as well as buried external, cross-site services such as water, gas, electricity and heating.

Mark Mason, operations manager (M&E) at J Tomlinson, said: “This is a significant scheme which will provide a range of services to travellers on the M6, one of the UK’s key motorways. J Tomlinson is delighted to have been appointed to this contract and will bring considerable experience to the team developing the site.”

Completion is set for summer 2020, and J Tomlinson’s role is due to finish at the end of May 2020.
