Webinar: Using energy optimisation to reduce costs and drive growth

The global energy landscape is changing. The grid can no longer rely on large, centralised power stations to meet demand. As a result, we continue to shift towards decentralised renewable power.

In order to gain a competitive edge, an increasing number of businesses are rethinking their energy strategies, while focusing on digitalisation to innovate, minimise risk and increase flexibility. Emerging technologies that make use of connected digital systems enable companies to generate and consume energy more sustainably and interlock with the grid digitally. Businesses are also considering the increasing reliance on energy for their own operations and of their third-party suppliers like cloud infrastructure providers, and ensuring that they are also resilient to power interruptions.

On this webinar, we explore the sustainability challenges facing businesses today and outline how energy optimisation can help reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve resilience. We draw on examples from case studies and provide a step-by-step guide on how businesses can implement energy optimisation to empower sustainable business growth.

Webinar: Extending FM contract terms – will clients always win?

A webinar brought to you by FM World and Supply Management sponsored by Office Depot.

It's often said that if only contractors were allowed more than the typical three years in which to hone their delivery of service, all would be right in the FM outsourcing world. But is this really the case? Would longer contract terms mean a) stronger engagement and investment by the FM contractor, and b) a better level of service delivery to the client?

The discussion focused on the following points:

• What is the optimum term length for facilities management contracts?
• Is there a conflict between procurement's desire for financial competitiveness and FM's desire for consistency of delivery?
• What are the potential disadvantages of extended term lengths?
• Is the fight for longer term lengths masking issues of inadequate management / service benchmarking by the client?

Webinar: How to add value to FM procurement

The webinar’s theme was how the procurement of facilities management can play a role in enhancing a business’s brand.

Issues covered during the hour-long session included:

• How to save money and improve customer service

• How to protect your brand when buying FM services
